In 2019, Nissan Motor Corporation announced its "Nissan Intelligent Factory" concept for next-generation car manufacturing, and has continued to focus efforts on introducing innovative production technologies to its factories both in and outside of Japan.
To guide this process, the company introduced an Intelligent Operation Support System (IOSS) that employs Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides, which allows operators to self-learn the skills required and reduces the workload on instructors.

Based on this experience, we hope to expand its use in the future so the system can be used at as many locations as possible."
When developing IOSS, the company had considered several products equipped with features to provide work guidance. In addition to HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Guides, Nissan thoroughly compared AR solutions from other companies as well.
Cost and ease of use were the primary reasons for Nissan selecting Microsoft products.
